By Lincolnshire Outdoor Learning are starting to build living Willow pods, fences and gazebos from willow grown at our micro farm in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
We plant the willows ½ metre deep so water gets down to encourage deep rooting and long-term drought resistance. You may want to water a couple of times a week in a dry season but your living willow structure will grow even in the swampiest of environments, reliably shooting up a couple of metres a year.
